Who is 28 Day Skin?
28 Day Skin is the brand name for HarJam Innovations Limited. We are a team of medical physicists, formulation chemists and nutritionists who specialise in skin health and have been at the forefront of skincare, nutrition and skintech for over 20 years. Our mission is to improve people’s lives through the innovative synergy of skincare, technology, nutrition and mental health. We call this synergistic therapy.
Are your products clean?
We do not believe in Green or Clean Beauty hype. Ingredients are not intrinsically good or bad. It depends on how they are formulated. Our formulators and nutritionists choose ingredients based on their effectiveness, not on whether they are synthetic, natural, green or allegedly clean. We do not avoid ingredients because they sound scientific and do not include ingredients because they are popular. All our products are formulated and independently tested to comply with all relevant cosmetic regulations.
Why are you against clean beauty?
Clean beauty exploits fear and twists facts to convince consumers that conventional products contain ingredients that are the reasons for their skin ailments while “clean” products are in some way superior because they do not contain these ingredients. This fear-based marketing strategy trains people to trust opinion over fact and marketing over science. We know we all deserve to be treated better than that. 28 Day Skin is strongly against the clean beauty movement.
Are your products green?
We strive to do business in ways that are good for people and the planet. We believe we should protect all stakeholders – workers, customers, suppliers, community and the environment – and not just our shareholders. We use carbon neutral sugar cane derived mailing bags, compostable packaging and our box recycling plan allows all our customers to return their packaging to us for free which we pulp and recycle. When selecting materials, we look at the actual environmental impact rather than the perceived one – some glass is more impactful than plastic for example. In 2020 we sent 0% of our product waste to landfill. We also donate a percentage of our profits to good individual causes and charities. We are an accredited Living Wage Employer.
Is your skincare cruelty free?
Yes, absolutely 100% cruelty free. We have been accredited PETA.
Where are your products made?
We create our own skintech and skincare products entirely from our inhouse state of the art laboratory. We use a UK based contract manufacturer to produce our supplements.
Are your products your own innovations?
Yes. We have a meticulous passion for evidence led innovation and have multiple pending patent applications. In 2019 we introduced in-product patch testing and to date are the only skincare brand to give all its customers free access to patch tests prior to using products. In 2020 we introduced the first all in one double cleanser that didn’t require premixing. In 2021 we introduced Regenesis, a synergy based anti-ageing treatment.
If I have a skin condition such as eczema, psoriasis or rosacea, can I use 28 Day Skin?
Yes, but please patch test your product prior to use to ensure compatibility with our serums.
What is Regenesis?
Regenesis is a skin care system which has been designed by our team of scientists and nutritionists to help reduce the signs of aging through a synergy of photoacoustic therapy, skincare and nutrition.
Why is Regenesis different to other skin care systems?
Regenesis combines phototherapy, acoustic massage, skincare and nutrition to synergistically reduce the signs of aging. This synergy of treatments produces a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.
Why is Regenesis better than using an LED mask?
Red light from an LED mask signals our skin cells to start building collagen, but to build collagen the body needs to have the correct raw materials. Without an optimal supply of these raw materials the skin cells slow collagen synthesis no matter how much signalling light is provided from the LED mask. Collagen is created by fibroblast cells.

These specialised cells use peptides and vitamin C to convert amino acids into collagen proteins. Without peptides, vitamin C and amino acids our body cannot produce collagen.

Regenesis provides all the essential building blocks, both topically and nutritionally, to fuel collagen production and red-light photoacoustic therapy to activate and accelerate the process.
Why is Regnesis better than using a collagen cream?
The skin creates its own collagen – it cannot be delivered to the skin despite the plethora of collagen infused creams and serums available. Collagen and Elastin form the ECM (Extra-Cellular Matrix).

This structure can be likened to an elastic mesh (like nylons) and it gives the skin the structure and elasticity it needs. Externally introduced collagen cannot be woven into the ECM. Regenesis supplements provide the body with the essential building blocks for ECM formation, and then turns on and accelerates the mechanism for collagen production using our innovative photoacoustic technology.
How did you create Regenesis and what proof points can you share?
Our team consists of medical physicists, formulation chemists and nutritionists who specialise in skin health and have been at the forefront of photoacoustic and synergistic therapy for over 20 years. In developing Regenesis we studied hundreds of scientific reports to provide the efficacy of each skincare and nutritional ingredient and used these as proof points to inform our formulation and design. Our phototherapy uses clinically proven parameters for the indications claimed. Third party clinical trials have also been undertaken to prove efficacy and safety of Regenesis. Clinical data to support our claims can be found in our learning centre.
When should I use my Regenesis treatments for the best overall results?
No, the skincare products and the photoacoustic therapy are both non-invasive.
Do the treatments hurt?
No, the skincare products and the photoacoustic therapy are both non-invasive.
Do I need to follow all the steps with each use to get results with Regenesis?
Yes, you do. Regenesis has been designed to work with your natural skin cycle. Your skin recovers and builds in cycles of 28 days so missing a step will prevent the Regenesis from working effectively.
When will I see results?
You are unique and so is the speed at which you will start to see improvements. Most users start to see a reduction in fine lines within 28 days, but it is important to be patient as changes are happening deep beneath the skin’s top layer. Typically, improvements should start to show around 90 days from use.
Can I get a refund if this does not work?
Given the extensive testing we have performed on Regenesis, we’re firm believers in our product’s efficacy to improve the appearance of ageing. If you are not satisfied after 90 days of using Regenesis, please reach out to us at hello@upgradd.co.uk so we can help make things right.
I have sensitive skin. Will Regenesis treatments and I get along?
Yes, you will get along. We provide a free patch test to test our skincare before use. If you experience any reaction from our skincare products you can return your Regenesis to us for free by emailing hello@upgradd.co.uk

If you do experience mild discomfort in the first week or so, we’d recommend you use your moisturiser on your face before applying the Cell Regeneration Complex (which contains a high concentration of vitamin C) to act as a buffer between the skin and the product.
Will Regenesis lighten my skin or cause hyperpigmentation?
No, numerous clinical studies have shown that light with a wavelength of 630nm (red light) does not cause hyperpigmentation in skin.

[Differences in visible light-induced pigmentation according to wavelengths: A clinical and histological study in comparison with UVB exposure June 2014 Pigment Cell & Melanoma Research 27(5) DOI:10.1111/pcmr.12273. The effects of narrowbands of visible light upon some skin disorders: a review A. J. Greaves First published: 27 December 2015 https://doi.org/10.1111/ics.12305]
Is Regenesis suitable for all ethnicities and skin type?
Yes, the plan has been created to treat and repair every type of skin.
Can I use my retinol cream immediately after using this?
Regenesis can be used alongside Retinol treatments however we recommend that you do not use the Photoacoustic therapy device at the same time of day as a retinol treatment.
Can I use Regenesis on my body?
Regenesis has been developed for use on the face and neck. Our skin in other areas of the body has different characteristics and Regenesis may be less effective.
Is a 28 Day Skin plan safe for women who are pregnant or nursing?
If you are pregnant or nursing, we recommend you speak with a doctor before starting to use Regenesis.
Can I take antibiotics and be on a 28 Day Skin plan at the same time?
Yes. However, if you are concerned, please speak with a doctor before starting to use Regenesis.
Can Regenesis help treat my scars?
Regenesis is not indicated for use on scar tissue, however it is safe to use Regenesis over scar tissue.

What is photoacoustic therapy?

Photoacoustic therapy is a combination of red-light phototherapy and acoustic massage. Red light phototherapy enables skin cells to respond better to damage and rejuvenate themselves. Acoustic massage induces shear stresses in the skin to stimulate fibroblast production and help reduce fluid retention and improve lymphatic drainage. The result is an improvement in the skin’s radiance & luminosity, reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and shrinkage of stubborn under eye bags.

Do LED lights really work?

Phototherapy light at 633nm has been clinically shown to help reduce the signs of aging by signalling an increase in the production of fibroblasts, a biological cell that synthesizes the extracellular matrix (ECM) and collagen. It is the ECM and collagen which give the skin its elasticity. Clinical data to support our claims can be found in our learning centre.

How does red light therapy help with wrinkles?

Skin cells absorb the red light and produce more adenosine triphosphate, which is the energy source for all cells. With this extra energy, the cells are signalled to produce more collagen, which gives the skin its elasticity and helps reduce wrinkle severity, fine lines and improving facial texture.

Red light alone only provides only part of the solution – skin cells still require the necessary building blocks to produce more collagen. Regenesis provides all the essential building blocks, both topically and nutritionally, to fuel collagen production and red-light photoacoustic therapy to activate and accelerate the process.

Are LED light therapy treatments good for your skin?

Red light therapy has been shown to increase circulation between blood and tissue cells, increase collagen production (which gives the skin its elasticity) and help protect cells from damage. There have been no documented cases of negative events associated with LED light therapy. Our innovative photoacoustic technology can further help improve skin texture through manual stimulation, stimulate the flow of lymph to reduce fluid retention and decrease puffiness and undereye bags.

Can photoacoustic therapy give you perfect skin?

There is no such thing as perfect or flawless skin, everyone has something they would like to improve. Our genetics principally determine the nature of our skin, but we can help make the best of what nature has given us by adopting a healthy lifestyle (including diet and stress management) and having a good consistent skincare routine (we call this skin synergy). Photoacoustic therapy can help but it cannot give you perfect skin.

What ingredients are in your Regenesis serums?

Our Regenesis skincare contains a proprietary blend of Vitamin C, Argireline, Copper peptides, Ribose and Amino acids to activate and fuel fibroblast cells to produce collagen and elastin while simultaneously inhibiting the movement of facial muscles. Full ingredient listings can be found on the relevant product page of all our skincare and on packaging.

How do Regenesis serums freeze frown lines?

Our Collagen Boosting Peptide Serum contains a substance called Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-3 or acetyl hexapeptide-8). Independent Double blind controlled studies have shown Argireline has a muscle inhibiting effect which improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by 15-27%, particularly those around the eyes and on the forehead.

Is your Collagen Boosting Peptide Serum the same as Botox?

Although it is nicknamed “Botox in a jar” and produced from a similar chemical compound Argireline will be significantly less intense compared to Botox. Botox is administered by injection directly to the muscles while Argireline applied as a serum is unlikely to penetrate as effectively through the skin and tissue before reaching the muscles underneath.

Can I use other skin care products while on a Regenesis plan?

Yes, Regenesis can be used alongside your existing skincare regime. If you are using Retinoids, or any products which might cause photosensitivity, we recommend using these at a different time to Regenesis.

Do I need to cleanse before using Regenesis?

We recommend cleansing before using red light therapy. Clinical data has shown that lack of removal of makeup and oily debris can interfere with the penetration of the light and reduce the effectiveness of light therapy. We recommend our 28 Day Skin Double Cleanser.
