pKa/pH balanced This pH of this formula is approximately 3.8. Glycolic Acid has a pKa of 3.8. pH and pKa are important values in acid products. pKa implies acid availability. When pKa is close to pH the effectiveness of an acid is maximised while irritation is reduced. High differences between pH and pka can make a formula irritating.
